Rock ‘n’ Roll Seattle Marathon rocks out to raise money for the American Cancer Society

I know that this has nothing to do with divorce, but I wanted to post it anyway because it is for a good cause.  My father-in-law died from cancer and we still miss him.

The Rock ‘n’ Roll Seattle Marathon combines a full and half marathon with live bands and a cool post-race concert to raise money for the American Cancer Society.

The marathon starts at 7am. on Saturday, June 23rd at the downtown Seattle Center, located at Broad Street and Denny Way. The finish line is located at the Mercer Street and 4th Avenue Seattle Center. Live bands from the Seattle area will play a range of music, from classic rock to blues, along the course.

After crossing the finish line, runners can rock out to a live concert headlined by the band Gym Class Heroes, with other bands opening and closing the concert. The opening acts play from 8-10am. An awards ceremony follows from 10:30-11am. that will present trophies to the top three runners from various age categories. The Gym Class Heroes will perform from 11am-12pm. Following the Gym Class Heroes, the closing acts will be from noon to 3pm.

Registration can be done online by visiting http://runrocknroll.competitor.com/seattle/event-details#register and costs $130-140. Participants can also request a paper form to be mailed, at an extra cost of $15. Runners will receive a participant shirt, bag, a medal for finishing, and admission to the concert.
